OUT AND ABOUT: CHRISTMAS IN LONDON

This term I've been so crazy busy with uni that I haven't had time to explore London much, hence the lack of 'out and about' posts. However, I HAD to go to Winter Wonderland at some point before going home.  I love Christmas and anything remotely Christmassy - mainly lights and shiny things, I'm like a little kid.

I think Winter Wonderland is one of those places that you always want to go even though you know that a) it's going to be exactly the same as the previous year, b) it's gonna be packed and c) it's so overpriced.  As every single year, it made me feel really Christmassy and in spite of the huge amount of deliciously smelling food I controlled myself and only bought some fudge -easily the best fudge I've ever had - and some churros with chocolate because why wouldn't I buy overpriced churros sold by German people in London when I'm going to Spain in a few days? I didn't go on any of the rides as I didn't fancy being sick after eating and I'm not really a fan of rollercoasters anyway.

After Winter Wonderland we went to Knightsbridge - somehow that's where Kate and I always end up at. There were so many buildings with the cutest Christmas decorations and trees. I've never had a real Christmas tree, which is why I'm so obsessed with them and why I frantically take a hundred pictures every time I see one.

OUT AND ABOUT: LOUIS VUITTON SERIES 3 EXHIBITION

If you have any Sunday plan that is better than brunch -involving red velvet pancakes- and staring at beautiful handbags then please do let me know. Anyway, that's how I spent my last Sunday. We went to have brunch at The Diner in Soho. The food was really good, even though the red velvet pancakes were a bit of a disappointment. I had been there before for dinner and I definitely think their dinner food is much better!  After stuffing our faces with food, we went to the LV exhibition at The Strand. We had booked our tickets online, but since it was the last day of the exhibition -we're so last minute, I know-  we had to queue up for a bit. Nothing unbearable though.

The exhibition was great and we got to see how they make some of the bags, which was really cool. It was really tempting to grab one of the bags and run, but we managed to behave. Most of the rooms were just a display of Louis Vuitton's bags, clothes and shoes. One of the rooms had loads of screens, showing various looks from previous fashion shows; another room had mannequin wearing bags and different accessories. According to a tour guide 'it was the most instagrammable room in the building'. Not going to argue with that. We also got to touch some of the clothes, which made me really stupidly excited and happy. I'm like a child when I'm around pretty expensive things. The best thing, though, was getting free stickers and a poster. Who doesn't love freebies? Plus, now I can say I own something from Louis Vuitton...

OUT AND ABOUT: ZAKYNTHOS, GREECE

I'm currently sitting in my room, under a gloomy sky wearing a chunky jumper and sipping on hot coffee to warm me up, whilst reminiscing the sunny, warm days in Greece snorkelling in crystal clear water. I spent a week in Zakynthos (not rich enough to afford Mykonos YET) and I fell in love with Greece. The beach that was near our hotel was not too nice so we did not go there. Instead, we went around the island on a boat. I'm from Mallorca so I've been to many beaches, many of which are really beautiful, but I had never seen such stunning and paradisiac beaches. The two best ones we went to are Turtle Island and Navagio Beach. The former is where many turtles lay their eggs, the water is crystal clear and since it can only be reached by boat it's rather empty. The latter is probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, the water is so turquoise it seems fake. If I were to see the pictures I took (down below) I would think they had been photoshopped, the water is such a bright and gorgeous colour it does not seem real but, trust me, it is. If you ever happen to be somewhere near Zakynthos, definitely go to Navagio Beach.

We also visited many caves, including Keri caves, which were really cool and for some reason reminded me of Norway -even though I've never been there. The water everywhere around the island was incredibly crystalline so we went snorkelling in a few caves which was pretty awesome.

The weather overall was quite good for September, it was around 25-30 degrees and sunny most days. One day, however, it decided to rain so we decided to go to Zante Town for the day and explore the area. We managed to walk for a while and found a spot with a really nice view before it started storming and raining like crazy. We ended spending a few hours in a cafe playing cards, waiting for the rain to stop. We had dinner at Nostimon Imar where we had the best starter ever: feta cheese in crispy pastry drizzled with honey. I have no words to describe how delicious it was.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy Greece so much, I really loved every single bit of this island and I definitely want to visit more Greek Islands in the future! Also, I've discovered I love Greek food, so give me all the Tzatziki and Moussaka!

OUT AND ABOUT: SA CALOBRA, MALLORCA

Hello! First of all, apologies for the lack of content these last few day. I just moved into my new flat in London and didn’t have wifi until today. How have I survived 4 whole days without wifi? I have no idea, but I barely made it. Anyway, since I didn’t have access to the wonderful world called the Internet and almost run out of data, I spent some time cleaning my laptop and freeing some much needed space on my disk. This led me to find a lost folder of pictures from a hike I went on with my dad and my sister a few weeks ago, back in Mallorca. I was meant to write about it a while back but completely forgot.

I love London, it’s easily one of my favourite places in the world, but I have to admit that looking at these pictures, where the sun is shining and remembering the heat from the sun, whilst typing these words with my cold fingers, under a cloudy and grey sky, makes me miss Mallorca and summer quite a lot.

That day we went to the Torrent de Pareis, which is pretty much and empty river. People seem to like going there on hikes so when my dad asked if I wanted to go, I went for it. It turned out to be a pretty fun hike - it was more like climbing, hiking and trying not to crack your head open at the same time. Nevertheless, it was fun and I’m happy both me and my camera made it out alive. The scenery was really beautiful and I would actually go back again! It was right next to the sea -obviously, it’s a river- and a really beautiful (and crowded) beach so that was a bonus!
