OUT AND ABOUT: PALMA DE MALLORCA

Hello!! I recently booked my flight back to London, meaning that I have less than a month left here in Mallorca. The other day I went to Palma to run some errands and when my dad suggested to take my camera with me to take some pictures I thought it was a great idea. I'm a big fan of big cities with loads of skyscrapers and big building. Palma, is the furthest away from that possible. It's a rather small city with very few big buildings and no skyscrapers but I still think it's really beautiful and worth the visit if you ever come to Mallorca on holidays!

BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE EVER!!

I would say there's been a bit of a food overload on my blog recently but there is no such thing as food overload so... here's another post about food! I had been craving chocolate for a while and after eating a huge Lindt chocolate bar way too fast I decided to make a really yummy (you know, with butter, loads of sugar and stuff) chocolate cake to satisfy my cravings once and for all. It turned out to be the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten, ever and I've eaten many. So I obviously had to share the recipe with you all. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

For the cake:

1 cup withe sugar
A quarter cup  maple syrup
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups of flour
1 tsp baking soda
A pinch of salt
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup oats
5 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped almonds

For the frosting:

1  cup of sugar
3/4 cups of chocolate
6 tbsp milk
1/2 cup melted butter

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Start by mixing the butter, the sugar, the baking soda the flour and the cocoa powder. Then add the two eggs and mix thoroughly.

2. Soak the oats in water and leave it to sit for a few minutes, until the oats are soft. Then add the oats, together with whatever water there's left, to the mixture.

3. Add the vanilla extract, the maple syrup and the almonds and mix.

4. Grease a cake pan and pour the mixture. Bake at 180˚ for about 15-20min.

5. Whilst the cake is cooling prepare the frosting by melting the butter, chocolate, sugar and milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once it's all melted, pour over the cooled cake immediately and leave it to sit in the fridge for 10-15min before serving.

I promise you guys, you will LOVE this cake (unless you don't like chocolate, in which case... WHAT?!).  If you make this, let me know what you think!
